Confirmation Rehearsal

7:00 pm in the Church

Does my sponsor have to come to rehearsal? YES! Your sponsor needs to attend rehearsal. If your sponsor cannot attend, your mom or dad or another adult needs to attend and stand in for your sponsor.

Does my mom and dad have to come to rehearsal? No, your parents do not have to attend, but many do sit in for the rehearsal.

When do I receive material for ordering pictures? Confirmation Picture Order forms will be available at the rehearsal. Pictures are  $20.00 for two  5 x 7s or  one 8 x 10.  Order forms (with other package options) can be turned in directly to the photographer on the night of Confirmation. Make checks payable to Tim McConnell Photography.

How long will rehearsal last?
It will last about an hour.

The Rite of Confirmation
Friday, April 29, 2011
Mass at 7:00 p.m.
Confirmation Candidates arrive at 6:00 pm

What should I wear to Confirmation? You should wear your Sunday best – what you would normally wear to church. Girls should wear a dress or skirt or nice dress slacks. Boys should wear dress pants, shirt and tie. Boys do not need to wear jackets or suits. No jeans.

Where do I go Friday evening and when do I
need to be there? All those preparing to receive Confirmation will meet in the Archangels Room (lower level of the church) at 6:00 pm. It is important that everyone is on time so that we can pray together and meet with the Bishop before Mass. Do not go to the Church. Your catechist (religion teacher) will be in the Archangels Room to meet you.

What time does my sponsor need to be in the Fellowship Hall? All sponsors need to be in the Fellowship Hall at 6:35. Please remind them that they do not meet in the Church.

What should I do with coats and purses? All Confirmation Candidates and their sponsors can put their coats in the coat room located between the front entryway and the Fellowship Hall. You will want to leave purses with a parent or another family member.

Can I chew gum during mass?  We ask candidates and sponsors NOT to be chewing gum during the Confirmation Liturgy.  It is a question of good manners and not appropriate behavior for liturgy.

Can my parents or other family members take pictures during the Confirmation Mass?   The Bishop’s office has asked that no one be taking pictures during the liturgy.  The use of flashes and people jostling for camera angles distract people and interfere with the liturgy as a time of prayer.  We ask that you alert members of your family to not take pictures during mass.  The Bishop will be available after mass for individual pictures with candidates and sponsors.

Confirmation Reception
Following Confirmation
in the Parish Center

Does my family have to go to the reception? No, your family does not have to go to the reception, but Bishop Pates would really, really like to meet your sponsor. He will be available for pictures at that time.

What if we did not RSVP for the reception? You are still welcome to join us in the Parish Center.
